CALDO backer boards/floor insulation are made of XPS (extruded polystyrene) foam board (CFC & HCFC free, yellow closed-cell core) in core and coated with fibreglass mesh and polymer cement mortar on both sides. The XPS (extruded polystyrene) foam board in the core is 100% waterproof and offers exceptional resistance to water vapour. As proof, these panels meet the stringent standards of ASTM/ANSI testing for waterproofing and are suitable as part of a waterproof installation when seams and fastener heads are properly treated.
